If your condition is linked to an already diagnosed medical condition…
If your undiagnosed symptom(s) have the potential to be linked to a diagnosed medical condition that has been screened and accepted, we may provide cover for medical expenses and cancellation/curtailment as a result of the undiagnosed condition(s).
This means that if your undiagnosed condition worsens or causes complications related to the pre-existing condition, you may still be able to make a cancellation claim if necessary, as well as have cover for emergency medical treatment abroad, subject to policy terms and conditions.
If your condition is NOT linked to an already diagnosed medical condition…
If your undiagnosed condition is not linked to a pre-existing medical condition, we may still provide cover for medical expenses while you are on holiday, subject to policy terms and conditions. This could include situations where the undiagnosed condition develops independently and is not related to any other declared medical condition(s).
Arranging Travel Insurance With A Pending Medical Investigation
When you declare you have an undiagnosed medical condition, our specialist insurers will ask some specific questions. This may include the type of symptoms you’re experiencing, what tests you are waiting for, and when you expect to have a result. It’s vital to answer these questions honestly to ensure you choose a policy that provides the appropriate level of cover. Please note that cancellation and curtailment cover may not be provided if you need to cancel or cut short your trip due to the awaited appointment. If you wish to discuss this further, call us on 0800 294 2969.
